A highway crossing... for squirrels

While the international mediasphere is too busy talking about a long-expected royal wedding, violence in the Middle East, or even the inauguration of the Crimea Bridge, one truly essential and rather positive notice isn't found on the headlines.

The Central Park of Helsinki is the place of residence of little and cute animals, belonging to the group of Siberian flying squirrels - a species under protection. But today, these squirrels are in danger: the overhead power line located in the park will soon be destroyed, as well as the trees surrouding it. These trees were essential as they enabled little squirrels to cross the highway.

Therefore, the staff of the park has decided to build a special highway crossing designed for squirrels.
Thanks to this project, finnish squirels will thus be able to cross the road in safe conditions.
